About us
The firm.
Islands AI exists because the island deserves better than remote agencies with a Guernsey landing page.
We're a Guernsey company (registration 74458) building AI systems for businesses in the Channel Islands and the UK. Our bias is operational: systems that run every day, with logging, documentation and a human accountable for them, rather than demos that die after the pilot.
The founder
Naz Abbasovs founded Islands AI after a career in procurement and operations spanning government and private business: buying, governing and living with the technology organisations depend on. That career teaches two things a demo never will. First, how complex organisations actually make decisions: the approval chains, the oversight, the time things genuinely take, and why systems that ignore that reality die in pilot. Second, how rarely those decisions are traceable afterwards: when someone asks six months later why something happened, the answer is too often buried in inboxes and memory. Every system Islands AI builds answers those two lessons. AI does the heavy reading, assembling and drafting; a named human stays the ultimate approver; and every step is logged with its data trail, so any decision can be explained to a board, an auditor or a regulator in minutes rather than a scramble. Naz builds and operates several such systems in production today, including Kalvo, the voice AI platform, and Flarion, compliance intelligence for fiduciaries. The result is a firm that designs AI the way regulated organisations buy: controls first, evidence always, and no dependence on a vendor who disappears after go-live.
If we cannot show your regulator how a system behaves, it does not ship.
How we think about AI
AI is the biggest operational lever since the spreadsheet, and most of the risk stories are really governance stories. Firms don't get burned by AI; they get burned by ungoverned AI: no human checkpoint, no logs, no idea what data went where. Every system we build answers those three questions by design. That's the whole philosophy.
